GUEST TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Guest Terms & Conditions apply specifically to all users of the Cotch Citi Platform in their capacity as Guests, and supplement the Terms of Service above. By purchasing a Ticket or attending an Event, you agree to these Guest Terms in addition to the Terms of Service.
1. Booking Process
1.1 How Bookings Work
When you make a Booking on the Platform, you are entering into a direct contract with the Host for admission to the relevant Event. Cotch Citi acts solely as an intermediary platform and payment processing agent; we are not a party to that contract.
A Booking is confirmed when you receive a Booking Confirmation email and/or in-app notification. Your Ticket(s) will be available in the 'My Tickets' section of the Platform. You must present a valid Ticket (digital or printed) upon arrival at the Event.
1.2 Ticket Transfers
Tickets may only be transferred to another person via the Platform's official transfer function where such facility is made available. Tickets must not be resold at a value in excess of the original purchase price. Tickets sold through unauthorised channels may be invalidated without refund.
1.3 Duplicate Tickets
Each Ticket contains a unique QR code or identifier. Duplicate Tickets will be rejected at the door. Guests are responsible for the security of their Tickets and must not share digital Ticket files with persons not authorised to attend.
2. Guest Rights and Protections
2.1 Event Cancellation by Host
If a Host cancels an Event, Cotch Citi will notify all affected Guests via email and in-app message as soon as reasonably practicable. Guests will receive a full refund of the Ticket price and any applicable Booking fees within 5 to 7 business days. Cotch Citi shall not be liable for any consequential losses suffered by Guests as a result of Event cancellation by a Host.
2.2 Significant Event Changes
If a Host makes a material change to a Listed Event (including, without limitation, a change of date, time, venue, or fundamental nature of the Event), Guests will be notified and offered the option to:
- Accept the change and retain their Booking; or
- Cancel their Booking and receive a full refund.
A material change is any modification that a reasonable Guest would consider significant when making their Booking decision.
2.3 Event Not as Described
Where an Event materially fails to match its Listing description, Guests may submit a complaint to Cotch Citi within 48 hours of the Event's end time, supported by evidence. Cotch Citi will investigate and, in appropriate cases, may issue a partial or full refund at its sole discretion. Repeated or vexatious complaints may result in Account suspension.
2.4 Right to Refuse Entry
Hosts retain the right to refuse entry to or eject Guests who:
- Do not hold a valid Ticket;
- Fail age verification where required;
- Are visibly intoxicated upon arrival;
- Behave in a disruptive, aggressive, or threatening manner;
- Breach the Event's stated terms or rules.
Entry refusal or ejection on lawful grounds does not entitle a Guest to a refund unless Cotch Citi determines otherwise following investigation.
3. Guest Conduct and Liability
3.1 Personal Responsibility
Guests attend Events entirely at their own risk. Guests are responsible for their own health, safety, and personal property at Events. Cotch Citi strongly recommends that Guests obtain personal accident or travel insurance for Events at unfamiliar venues.
3.2 Damage and Loss
Guests will be liable for any damage caused to a Host's property or venue during an Event. Cotch Citi may, at the Host's request, facilitate a damage claim against a Guest through the Platform. Guests who cause damage may be subject to Account suspension and legal action.
3.3 Photography and Recording
Guests must comply with the Host's stated policy on photography and recording. Recording and distribution of other Guests without their consent may breach UK data protection and privacy law. Cotch Citi will cooperate with any legitimate complaint relating to unauthorised recording.
PAYMENT, REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
This Policy governs all financial transactions processed through the Cotch Citi Platform. It applies to Hosts, Guests, and all users who purchase, sell, or manage Tickets via the Platform.
1. Payment Processing
1.1 Accepted Payment Methods
Cotch Citi accepts payment by debit card, credit card, and other payment methods as notified to Users from time to time. All card payments are processed by our third-party payment service provider ('PSP'). Cotch Citi does not store card or other payment details.
1.2 Currency and Pricing
Unless otherwise stated, all prices on the Platform are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP). For international Guests, your card provider or bank may apply currency conversion fees, for which Cotch Citi accepts no responsibility. Prices displayed are inclusive of all applicable taxes unless explicitly stated otherwise.
1.3 Payment Timing
Full payment is required at the time of Booking. Provisional holds may apply pending verification. Where a payment fails, the Booking will not be confirmed. Cotch Citi will notify you of failed payments and allow you to retry.
1.4 Fraud Prevention
Cotch Citi employs automated fraud detection measures. Transactions flagged as potentially fraudulent may be delayed or declined. Users whose accounts are associated with repeated fraudulent transactions will be permanently banned and reported to relevant authorities.
2. No Refund Policy
2.1 Guests are not entitled to a refund. Refunds can only be issued if the Host agrees to provide, however, the Platform shall not have the obligation in any scenario to issue refunds.
2.2 Mandatory Full Refunds
A full refund of the Ticket price AND Booking fee will always be issued where:
- The Event is cancelled by the Host;
- The Event date or venue is materially changed by the Host and the Guest declines the change;
- The Event fails to take place due to circumstances within the Host's control;
- Cotch Citi determines following investigation that the Event materially failed to match its description.
2.3 Non-Refundable Circumstances
No refund will be issued where:
- A Guest is refused entry or ejected due to their own conduct;
- A Guest fails to attend the Event for personal reasons (including illness, travel disruption, or change of plans) outside the refund window;
- A Guest has been banned from the Platform;
- The cancellation is fraudulent or designed to exploit our refund system.
2.4 Force Majeure
Where an Event cannot take place due to circumstances beyond the Host's reasonable control ('Force Majeure Events'), including but not limited to acts of God, government restrictions, pandemic measures, or natural disasters, Guests will not be eligible for refunds,
2.5 Processing of Refunds
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days of approval. Cotch Citi cannot be held responsible for delays caused by banks or card issuers. Guests should contact their card provider if a refund has not appeared after 10 business days.
3. Cancellation Policy
3.1 Guest Cancellations
Guests may cancel a Booking at any time via the Platform. Refunds will be issued in accordance with the applicable refund window set out in Section 2.1.
3.2 Host Cancellations
Hosts may cancel a Listed Event at any time, but repeated cancellations will adversely affect the Host's rating and may result in suspension of hosting privileges. Where a Host cancels:
- More than 7 days before the Event: Full refund to all Guests.
- Within 7 days of the Event: Full refund to all Guests. Host will receive a formal warning and may have their Platform access suspended if repeated.
- Within 48 hours of the Event: Full refund to all the guests and a 20 percent penalty.
3.3 Cotch Citi-Initiated Cancellations
Cotch Citi reserves the right to cancel any Listing or Booking where it reasonably determines that an Event poses a risk to safety, violates applicable law, or breaches these Terms. In such circumstances, Cotch Citi will issue full refunds to Guests and may take further action against the Host.
4. Platform Fees
The following fee structure applies to all transactions on the Platform:
- A flat fee of 5% of the Ticket price is charged from the Host.
- Currency Conversion Fee: As charged by the Guest's card provider; Cotch Citi does not charge additional conversion fees.
All fees are inclusive of applicable VAT where Cotch Citi is required to charge VAT. Cotch Citi reserves the right to adjust its fee structure upon 30 days' notice to Users.
LIABILITY WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Effective Date: March 6, 2026
Cotch Citi is a technology-driven marketplace platform. It connects individuals who wish to host social events and gatherings ('Hosts') with individuals who wish to attend those events ('Guests'). Cotch Citi does not itself host, organise, operate, manage, attend, or supervise any Event listed on the Platform. Cotch Citi does not inspect venues, screen Hosts beyond identity verification, control the conduct of Guests, or guarantee the accuracy of any Listing.
The relationship between a Host and a Guest is a private arrangement between two independent individuals. Cotch Citi is not a party to that arrangement. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and accept the nature of Cotch Citi's role as a neutral marketplace intermediary and not as an event organiser, venue operator, safety authority, or insurer.
Inherent Risks of Social Events
Attending or hosting social events and gatherings carries inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken by any party. You acknowledge that these inherent risks include but are not limited to:
- Physical injury arising from accidents, falls, collisions, or other incidents at or near an Event venue.
- Exposure to illness, including communicable disease, arising from attendance at crowded gatherings.
- Loss of or damage to personal property at an Event venue.
- Emotional distress arising from interactions with other attendees.
- Exposure to noise, smoke, strobe lighting, alcohol, or other environmental factors that may affect health or comfort.
- Incidents of anti-social behaviour, confrontation, or violence involving other attendees.
- Venue-related hazards including uneven surfaces, inadequate lighting, temperature extremes, or structural risks.
- Personal injury or illness arising from the consumption of food or drink at an Event.
- Risks associated with travel to and from an Event, including road, rail, and pedestrian hazards.
You acknowledge that this list is not exhaustive and that social events by their nature involve an element of risk that cannot be entirely controlled or anticipated.
Inherent Risks of Social Networking
The Platform's social networking features carry additional inherent risks, including:
- Meeting and interacting with individuals whose identity, character, or intentions may differ from their online presentation.
- Receiving or being exposed to unwanted, offensive, or upsetting communications from other Users.
- The sharing or misuse of personal information posted on a public or semi-public profile.
- Emotional impact arising from social interactions, comparisons, or the dynamics of online communities.
You acknowledge these risks and accept personal responsibility for the degree to which you engage with the social networking features of the Platform.
Community Guidelines
Effective: 6 March 2026
Social. Events. Connection. Culture.
These Community Guidelines set out the standards of behaviour that every member of the Cotch Citi community, whether Host, Guest, or social user, is expected to uphold. They exist to ensure that Cotch Citi remains a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable space for everyone. Alongside our Terms of Service, these Guidelines are binding on all users. Violations may result in content removal, Account suspension, or permanent banning from the Platform.
1. Our Community Values
Everything on Cotch Citi is built around four core values. These are not aspirational — they are the standard we hold every member of our community to.
Respect
Every person on this Platform deserves to be treated with basic human dignity. Differences in background, culture, lifestyle, and identity are what make events and social gatherings rich and meaningful. Treat every Host, Guest, and community member the way you would want to be treated. Disrespect, condescension, mockery, and cruelty of any kind have no place here.
Authenticity
Be honest about who you are, what your Event is, and what your intentions are. Do not misrepresent your identity, your venue, your Event, or yourself to other Users. Authenticity builds trust, and trust is what makes this community work. Fake profiles, misleading listings, and dishonest communication undermine the entire platform.
Inclusion
Cotch Citi is a global platform built for everyone. No person should ever feel unwelcome, excluded, or discriminated against because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic. Hosts are expected to welcome Guests without prejudice. Guests are expected to respect the diverse communities and spaces they enter.
Safety
The physical and emotional safety of every person on the Platform is non-negotiable. Every Host bears responsibility for the safety of their Event. Every Guest bears responsibility for their own conduct. Cotch Citi commits to acting swiftly on any safety concern raised by any member of the community.
2. Host Community Standards
Being a Host on Cotch Citi is a privilege. Hosts represent the Platform to their Guests and are the primary guardians of quality and safety at every Event. The following standards apply to all Hosts.
2.1 Honest and Accurate Listings
Your Event listing must be an honest and complete representation of what Guests can expect. This means the description, photos, venue, date, time, capacity, price, and any restrictions must all be accurate at the time of listing and must be updated immediately if anything changes. Do not embellish, exaggerate, or omit material information. Guests make decisions based on your listing. Misleading them damages trust in you and in the whole community.
2.2 Preparing a Safe Environment
Before your Event, walk the venue and ask yourself whether you would be comfortable bringing a family member there. Identify hazards and address them. Know your maximum safe capacity and do not exceed it. Ensure entry and exit routes are clear at all times. Have a plan for what you will do if someone is taken ill, if a fight breaks out, or if you need to end the Event early. Safety planning is not optional — it is part of what it means to be a Host on Cotch Citi.
2.3 Welcoming All Guests
Once a Guest has a valid Ticket, they are entitled to a fair welcome. You may not refuse entry on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. You may set a reasonable dress code or theme, but it must be applied equally to all Guests and stated clearly in your listing. Any entry criteria that appear to mask discriminatory intent will result in your listing being removed and your Account reviewed.
2.4 Responsible Alcohol Service
If your Event involves alcohol, hosts are responsible to obtain licenses from the applicable authority. Do not serve alcohol to anyone who is visibly intoxicated. Do not serve alcohol to anyone who is under 18 years of age. Check ID if you have any doubt. Ensure that soft drink and water alternatives are available. Consider the journey home for your Guests and whether they have safe means of getting there. Remember that serving alcohol to intoxicated persons or minors is not just a guideline violation — it is a criminal offence.
2.5 Managing Disruption
You have both the right and the responsibility to manage the behaviour of Guests at your Event. If a Guest is being disruptive, aggressive, intoxicated beyond reason, or making other Guests uncomfortable, you may ask them to leave. You do not need to issue multiple warnings. Your duty of care to the majority of Guests overrides any individual Guest's desire to remain. If a situation escalates to a point where you or others feel unsafe, call the police immediately. Do not attempt to manage a violent situation alone.
2.6 Communication and Responsiveness
Respond to Guest messages in a timely manner before and after Events. If an Event changes or is cancelled, notify Guests as early as possible through the Platform. Guests who are left without information or are surprised by material changes have a right to feel let down. Poor communication is one of the leading causes of negative reviews and disputes, and it reflects badly on the entire Host community.
3. Guest Community Standards
Guests are the lifeblood of the Cotch Citi community. A great Guest makes the Host's effort worthwhile and contributes to an experience that everyone at the Event can enjoy. These standards apply to all Guests.
3.1 Attend in Good Faith
When you book an Event, you are making a commitment to the Host and to the other Guests who will be there. Only book Events you genuinely intend to attend
3.2 Respect the Venue and Space
You are a Guest in someone's home, venue, or hired space. Treat it accordingly. Do not damage property. Do not access areas of a venue you have not been invited into. Do not remove items from the venue. If you accidentally cause damage, tell the Host immediately and take responsibility. Attempting to conceal damage is a serious breach of community trust and may result in a claim against you.
3.3 Respect Other Guests
Events are shared experiences. The way you behave affects everyone around you. Keep noise, aggression, and personal disputes out of the Event space. Do not make other Guests feel uncomfortable, intimidated, or unwelcome. Do not take photographs or video of other Guests without their consent. Respect personal boundaries at all times. If another Guest is making you or anyone else feel unsafe, tell the Host immediately or call for help.
3.4 Arrive Responsibly
Arrive at a time that is reasonable within the Event's stated schedule. Do not arrive excessively intoxicated. Hosts have the right to refuse entry to Guests who are already heavily intoxicated and are unable to conduct themselves safely. Bring valid ID if the Event is age-restricted. Attempting to gain entry to an age-restricted Event underage is a serious breach of both these Guidelines and the law.
3.5 Leave Respectfully
How you leave an Event matters as much as how you arrived. Leave at a time that is appropriate to the Event's end time. Do not linger beyond the stated end without the Host's invitation. Be mindful of neighbours and the surrounding community when leaving, particularly late at night. Keep noise levels low and do not gather in large groups outside the venue.
3.6 Honest Reviews
Reviews are one of the most important tools in the Cotch Citi community. When you leave a review, be honest, fair, and constructive. Do not leave a review based on factors outside the Host's reasonable control, such as traffic or bad weather. Do not leave false, malicious, or retaliatory reviews. Fabricated negative reviews intended to harm a Host's reputation are a breach of these Guidelines and may result in legal action by the affected Host.
4. Social Networking Standards
Cotch Citi's social features including following, feeds, posts, and messaging exist to help people find events they will love and connect with people who share their interests. These features come with their own set of community expectations.
4.1 Authentic Profiles
Your profile must represent you accurately. Use your real name or a consistent handle that identifies you. Do not use another person's photographs, name, or identity. Do not create multiple accounts to follow or interact with other Users deceptively. Fake profiles undermine the trust that makes the social features of the Platform valuable.
4.2 Respectful Messaging
Use the in-app messaging function only for legitimate, respectful communication. Do not send unsolicited messages to Users you have no connection to. Do not send messages that are sexually explicit, threatening, harassing, or designed to solicit commercial transactions outside the Platform. One unwanted message is a mistake. Persistent unwanted contact is harassment and will be treated as such.
4.3 Positive and Constructive Posts
Posts on your profile should add value to the community. Share Events, experiences, and content that you would be comfortable with Cotch Citi and the wider world seeing. Do not post content that is offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or designed to embarrass or harm another person. Do not post content that contains personal information about other Users without their consent.
4.4 No Spam or Artificial Engagement
Do not use automated tools, bots, or fake accounts to inflate your follower count, boost engagement on your posts, or manipulate the Platform's recommendation algorithms. Do not send mass unsolicited messages promoting Events or services. Organic, genuine engagement is what builds a real community. Artificial manipulation destroys it.
4.5 Reporting Harmful Content
If you see content on the Platform that you believe violates these Guidelines, report it using the in-app reporting tool or by emailing [email protected]. Do not respond to harmful content by posting retaliatory content of your own. Two wrongs do not make a right, and retaliatory posts will be treated as violations in their own right, regardless of what prompted them.
5. Zero Tolerance Conduct
The following behaviours result in immediate and permanent Account termination. No prior warning will be given. No appeal will be considered. Cotch Citi will report all relevant cases to the appropriate authorities.
- Sexual abuse, exploitation, or assault of any person at an Event or through the Platform's communication features.
- Any conduct involving the sexual exploitation of a child or the sharing of child sexual abuse material in any form.
- Supplying, selling, or openly distributing controlled drugs at or through an Event listed on the Platform.
- Bringing, carrying, or using a weapon of any kind at an Event.
- Organising or promoting an Event that is, in substance, a vehicle for human trafficking, forced labour, or sexual exploitation.
- Inciting violence against any individual or group, whether at an Event or through the Platform's social features.
- Using the Platform to promote terrorism, extremist ideology, or any proscribed organisation.
- Creating, sharing, or distributing pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit content through the Platform.
- Persistent targeted harassment or stalking of any User through the Platform.
- Deliberate and material misrepresentation designed to defraud Guests or Hosts.
6. Content and Listings Standards
6.1 Photography and Media in Listings
All photographs and videos used in Event listings must accurately represent the venue and the nature of the Event. Do not use stock imagery that misrepresents your space. Do not use images of other people without their consent. Images must not be sexually explicit, violent, or offensive. Cotch Citi reserves the right to remove or replace listing images that do not meet these standards without notice.
6.2 Event Titles and Descriptions
Event titles and descriptions must be written in plain, honest language. They must not contain coded language, euphemisms, or double meanings designed to circumvent these Guidelines while implying prohibited activity. Cotch Citi's moderation team is trained to identify such language, and any listing suspected of using it will be removed pending investigation.
6.3 Pricing Transparency
All pricing must be clearly stated in the listing before a Guest completes their booking. Hidden charges, surprise fees at the door, or prices that differ materially from the listing are prohibited and may give rise to refund obligations. Pricing must not be manipulated based on a Guest's race, nationality, or other protected characteristic.
7. Enforcement and Consequences
Cotch Citi enforces these Community Guidelines consistently and fairly. The consequences for violations will be proportionate to the seriousness of the conduct, though we reserve the right to apply more severe consequences where we consider the circumstances warrant it.
7.1 Warning
For first-time or minor violations, Cotch Citi may issue a formal written warning to the User. The warning will identify the violation and the specific section of these Guidelines breached. A record of the warning will be retained on the User's Account. A second violation after a warning will typically result in suspension.
7.2 Temporary Suspension
Where a User commits a repeated or moderately serious violation, their Account may be suspended for a defined period of between 7 and 90 days. During suspension, the User cannot list Events, make Bookings, post content, or use the messaging function. Existing Bookings affected by a suspension will be cancelled and refunded in accordance with the Cancellation Policy.
7.3 Permanent Ban
Where a User commits a serious, repeated, or zero tolerance violation, their Account will be permanently banned. A permanently banned User may not create a new Account, directly or indirectly, or use the Platform through any other User's Account. Circumventing a permanent ban by creating new accounts is itself a violation and will be reported to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
7.4 Reporting to Authorities
Cotch Citi will report violations involving criminal conduct to the relevant law enforcement authorities. This includes but is not limited to conduct involving violence, sexual offences, drug supply, weapons, human trafficking, fraud, and child exploitation. Cooperation with law enforcement is not discretionary in these matters — it is an obligation Cotch Citi takes seriously.
7.5 Appeals
Users who believe an enforcement action has been taken against them unfairly may submit an appeal within 14 days of the action by writing to [email protected] with the subject line 'Enforcement Appeal'. Cotch Citi will review the appeal and respond within 21 business days. Appeals relating to zero tolerance violations will not be considered. Cotch Citi's decision on appeal is final.
8. Reporting a Concern
If you experience or witness a violation of these Guidelines — whether at an Event, on someone's profile, in a message, or anywhere else on the Platform — please report it. We cannot act on things we do not know about.
You can report a concern by:
- Using the 'Report' button available on all listings, profiles, posts, and messages within the App.
- Emailing our Trust and Safety team at [email protected].
All reports are treated confidentially. We will not reveal your identity to the person you have reported. We will acknowledge all reports within 48 hours and will provide an outcome within 14 business days for non-urgent matters.
9. Updates to These Guidelines
Cotch Citi may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in the law, the nature of the Platform, or feedback from the community. Where changes are material, we will notify Users via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The current version of these Guidelines will always be available in the Platform's Help section.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
